How do you make a film designed to instruct that’s also visually magnetic – something that feels as dynamic as it is educational?
When Law Roach’s School of Style approached Entropico to produce the second instalment in their masterclass series, featuring renowned stylist Brett Alan Nelson, we saw an opportunity to evolve the educational film format.
The brief was simple: teach, inspire, and make it look incredible. Oh, and do it all in five weeks.
Renowned for his work in the music video world, working closely with the likes of Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj, we built a visual throughline around this very world he is opening up a window into. By invoking the visual language of the form, we could transport our viewers directly into the heat and pulse of a music video set.
This remixing of music video language, like the use of the projector in particular, endowed these instructor interviews with a sense of scale and beauty while being appropriate to form. Less “teacher at chalkboard, it also positioned Brett as an approachable authority – someone you actually want to listen to. The result is an educational experience that feels dynamic and engaging, immersing the viewer into the vivid world and practice of music video styling.
